What usually makes a move in Centro tricky
Old buildings, narrow staircases and streets closed to traffic. Here's how we handle it.
A 3rd floor without a lift
It's in the price from the start: €50 per floor for the 1st and 2nd floors and €35 from the 3rd. A 3rd floor comes to €135, and you see it on the ticket before you pay.
Furniture that won't fit down the stairs
We take the bed and wardrobe apart, carry them down wrapped in blankets and film, and put them back together in your new home. The first 2 pieces of furniture are free.
The low-emission zone (ZBE)
The whole of Centro is one, and only authorised vehicles can enter1. Before you book, we tell you whether your street needs a permit and how to apply, so you don't find out on the day.
What you're not taking
You don't pay for it: the price only covers what travels. To get rid of it, the City Council collects furniture for free once a month in your neighbourhood2; the days are in the questions below.
An example in Centro: 1 bedroom from a 3rd floor without a lift
You're moving from a 3rd floor without a lift to a flat with a lift, and we take apart the bed and wardrobe.
| What | Price |
|---|---|
| 1-bedroom moveUp to 18 m³, 2 people, up to 50 km | €449 |
| 3rd floor without a lift at the home you're leaving1st floor €50 + 2nd €50 + 3rd €35 | €135 |
| New home with a lift | €0 |
| Taking apart and reassembling the bed and wardrobeThe first 2 pieces of furniture are free | €0 |
| Total, fixed price | €584 |
449 + 50 + 50 + 35 = €584. If your new home is also a 3rd floor without a lift, it's €135 more: €719. Even if the move runs long, the price doesn't change.

I've been using their services for years and I've always had an excellent experience. The whole process is super quick, efficient and very reliable. And for those of us students who aren't from Madrid, it's a really convenient and practical option…

I can't recommend them enough! The website is super clear! The €20 booking was super easy, and I could pay with Amex! And they came to collect my boxes right at my bedroom door. Gonzalo was always on hand for my questions on WhatsApp, so they took a HUGE weight off my shoulders, and I can go on holiday stress-free :)

Questions about moving in Centro
Do you do moves in buildings in Centro without a lift?
Yes. The floors are added to the price from the start: €50 per floor for the 1st and 2nd floors and €35 per floor from the 3rd, in each home. A 3rd floor without a lift is €135, and you see it on the ticket before you book.
My street is in the low-emission zone: is that a problem?
We take it into account when we plan the move. The whole Centro district is a special low-emission zone (ZBE) and only authorised vehicles can enter, so before you book we tell you whether your street needs a permit and how to apply.
What if the stairs make the move take longer?
The price doesn't change: we don't charge overtime. What you book is what you pay, with VAT and insurance included.
What do I do with the furniture I'm not taking?
It isn't part of the move or the price. The City Council collects it for free once a month in each neighbourhood: Sol, the first Sunday; Justicia, the second Sunday; Cortes, the first Monday; Palacio, the first Tuesday; Embajadores, the first Wednesday; and Universidad, the first Thursday. You leave it out that evening next to the nearest bin.
You might also find these useful: our furniture delivery service if you're only moving a sofa or a wardrobe, and how to pack (in Spanish) to get everything ready. The practical side of moving in Madrid is in moving anywhere in Madrid.
