Why we do moves this way
In some businesses, the first price is there to get you to book, and the money comes from what gets added later.
The mirror: car hire
In 2016, around 2,000 people complained to the European Consumer Centres because, when they picked up their hire car, they paid more than they had booked online.Source 1 In January 2017, the five biggest companies in the sector in Europe committed to the European Commission to include all unavoidable charges in the price, to always offer a full-to-full fuel option, and to show evidence of any damage before charging for it.Source 1
In 2022, consumer authorities in eleven European countries reviewed 78 car-hire broker websites. Only 45% complied with the law: almost half didn't properly explain what the insurance covered, and information on mandatory charges, such as the young driver fee, was incomplete.Source 2
And in 2026, Spain's Ministry of Consumer Affairs fined one of those five companies one million euros for charging €33.88 to €45 in “admin fees” to every customer who got a fine in a hire car, for handling the fine and telling the authorities who was driving: a step the law already requires it to take. A court had struck down that clause in 2020. The company can still appeal in the courts.Source 3
And in moving
In a survey by the Spanish consumer organisation OCU published in 2017, 96% of people who had hired a moving company asked for a quote, but only 65% got it in writing. And 1 in 10 ended up paying more than quoted: €218 on average.Source 4
If a move is charged by the hour, what you pay depends on how long it takes, and that's almost never in your hands. We don't charge by the hour.
What Spanish law says
- Before starting, the moving company has to give you a written quote with the services, their cost and the total price, and tell you whether it includes permits (Law 15/2009, art. 73).Source 5
- The advertised price has to be the final price, with taxes and costs included (Consumer Protection Law, arts. 20 and 60).Source 6
- Rounding time up or charging for services that weren't used is unfair (art. 87.5).Source 6
For us, this isn't small print: it's how we work. If you're comparing quotes, read our guides on cheap moves in Madrid (in Spanish) and how much a move in Madrid costs (in Spanish).
What we do differently
A fixed price, in writing, before you pay.In 2 minutes, the ticket adds up in front of you, VAT included. Floors without a lift, assembly from the third piece of furniture, packing for more than 15 boxes and kilometres beyond 50 all show up there before you pay. Never after.
No overtime charges. If the move takes longer than planned, that's on us: the price doesn't move.
€50 to book and the rest on the day.The rest is paid by card or with your phone. If you cancel 48 hours or more in advance, we refund the €50.
The same price any day.Sundays and public holidays too. You choose the start time, between 8:00 and 22:00.
Insurance included. It's part of the price: not an extra we offer you at the end.
Your things, well looked after.Blankets and film on the furniture and, if it rains, waterproof covers. We take apart and reassemble with care, and come with the right-sized team (2 people up to 1 bedroom, 3 for 2 or 3) so you don't lose the day.
| What | Price |
|---|---|
| 2-bedroom move3 movers, up to 27 m³ and 50 km | €699 |
| No lift at the new home2nd floor: €50 + €50 | €100 |
| OvertimeIf it runs long, nothing changes | €0 |
| Total | €799 |
You book with €50 and pay the remaining €749 on the day.
What if there are more things on the day than you ticked? We tell you before loading, and the extra is charged using the same table as the ticket.

Who we are
We're Gon and José, the partners behind LetsBoxIt, and we work on it full-time. We want the company to keep growing without touching what matters to us: that the price you see is the price you pay.
We studied LEINN, the official entrepreneurship degree from Mondragon Unibertsitatea, at TeamLabs Madrid. We started out storing students' things over the summer, and moves came along because our customers asked us for them. Today we're an official partner of Xior in its Madrid student residences.
The service is currently provided by the Asociación Junior Empresa KAN (you'll find it in the legal notice). Our office is at Plaza de San Martín, 1, in Madrid.

I've been using their services for years and I've always had an excellent experience. The whole process is super quick, efficient and very reliable. And for those of us students who aren't from Madrid, it's a really convenient and practical option…

I can't recommend them enough! The website is super clear! The €20 booking was super easy, and I could pay with Amex! And they came to collect my boxes right at my bedroom door. Gonzalo was always on hand for my questions on WhatsApp, so they took a HUGE weight off my shoulders, and I can go on holiday stress-free :)
