What to know about Yugo Ciudad Universitaria.
Your room gets rented out in summer.
- Where they are: Yugo Emilia Pardo Bazán, at Paseo de Juan XXIII, 42, and Yugo Galdós, at Calle Ramiro de Maeztu, 2 (28040 Madrid). Both in Ciudad Universitaria, a 5-minute walk from the UPM and 15 from the UCM; also close to CUNEF, CEU San Pablo and Saint Louis University.
- Why you have to empty it: in summer Yugo offers those rooms as Summer Stays, to residents who extend, students who arrive early and also travellers who aren't students, according to its website. Its listings don't show a service of its own for storing things over the summer.
- When you leave: on the day your academic-year contract ends. Yugo doesn't publish a single date for all its residences: confirm it at reception or in your booking.
- What we do: we coordinate with you to come by that day and go up to your room.

Won't you be there that day? A flatmate or the concierge can hand it over, depending on the case, if we arrange it beforehand with us and your residence. And if you leave early, we can also come first thing in the morning or at night.

We collect from 17 May to 30 July and bring it back from 15 August to 30 September. It's not a monthly fee: VAT, boxes, packing materials and pickup included. And you keep the boxes.

Do you collect inside Yugo Emilia Pardo Bazán and Yugo Galdós?
Yes, at both. We come up to the door of your room, load boxes and suitcases and take everything.
When do I need to get my things out?
On the day your academic-year contract ends. Yugo doesn't publish the same calendar for all its residences, so confirm it at reception or in your booking. We coordinate with you to come by that day.
Doesn't Yugo store things over the summer?
The Emilia Pardo Bazán and Galdós listings don't show a service of their own for storing things. What Yugo offers is Summer Stays: renting that room over the summer. If you don't book it, you have to leave it empty.
Is it worth booking a Summer Stay?
If you'll be living in Madrid in July or August, it may make sense. If you just want to avoid moving your things, compare: Yugo doesn't publish the Summer Stay price for Madrid on its general page, so ask at reception. With us, 7 boxes cost €273 for the whole summer.
Is the €39 per month?
No. It's a single payment per box for the whole summer (€39 is the per-box price for 5 to 9 boxes, the most common tier): we collect it between 17 May and 30 July and bring it back between 15 August and 30 September. A storage unit is paid every month; here, just once.
Do I have to be there when you collect?
Normally you'd be there, but it's not compulsory: if we arrange it beforehand with us and your residence, a flatmate or the concierge can hand it over, depending on the case. And if you leave first thing in the morning or at night, we can do that too.
How and when do I pay?
€20 when you book, deducted from the total (we refund it if you cancel up to 14 days before pickup). The rest on pickup day, for the boxes we actually take: by card or phone, on the spot. If you're not there or your parents are paying, we'll send you a payment link. We never charge without telling you first. On delivery, nothing.
What if I change house or plans when I'm back?
We'll bring it to whatever new address in Madrid you give us: another residence, a hall of residence or a flat. You choose the delivery date when you book and, if your plans change, message us on WhatsApp and we'll change it. If you're not coming back to Madrid, we can also ship it to another city or country: we'll give you the price on WhatsApp.
