Yes, there are cheap movers in Madrid, especially if you have few items: furniture delivery from €50 and mini moves from €150. For a whole flat, the advertised price is usually just the starting point. In the moves we do, what weighs most on moving day isn't that price but what it doesn't include: the second mover, the blankets, the insurance. Our rate is fixed, from €349 to €949.

In short

  • Market base prices: furniture delivery from €50, mini move from €150, €40-80 per hour and about €40/m³ within Madrid.
  • What gets cut most: packing, extra staff, insurance and furniture protection.
  • Cheap pays off with few items and a flexible date; with big furniture or no lift, almost never.
  • With us: €349-949 with VAT, movers, insurance and protection included.

What “cheap” prices are there in Madrid?

Budget companies in Madrid advertise furniture delivery from €50, mini moves from €150, hourly rates of €40 to €80 and, for whole flats, a volume-based starting price of about €40/m³. These are starting prices: they don't count packing, extra staff or a crane, and VAT is added on top. Here's how they compare with our fixed rate.

What do low-cost companies cut?

Typically the base price covers only a van and a driver. Packing, a second mover, blankets and film, or a crane, are charged separately, and some companies work without a licence or proper insurance. According to a consumer guide for the sector, the cuts are mostly in licences, insurance and trained staff.

  • Packing: +€100-300 for furniture and +€150-350 for the contents of the boxes.
  • Staff: each extra mover adds about €96.
  • Insurance and contract: without detailed cover, there's no one to claim from if something breaks.
  • Floor without a lift: a per-floor surcharge, sometimes not mentioned until the day itself.

When is a cheap move worth it, and when isn't it?

It pays off when you're moving few items, nothing fragile or valuable, you have a flexible date and you can help load. It doesn't pay off with bulky furniture, in a flat without a lift or with awkward access, if you need an exact day and time, or if you want insurance and a written contract. In those cases, paying more works out cheaper.

How do I spot a cheap move that will end up costing me more?

Before booking on the lowest price, five questions tell you almost everything. If the company doesn't answer them clearly and in writing, the final price is very likely to be different:

  1. Does it include VAT? A “€350” becomes €423.50 once you add 21 %.
  2. Is it a “from” price? Without a fixed breakdown, assume it goes up.
  3. How many staff are included? If it's only a driver, each extra person is paid separately.
  4. What insurance is included and what does it cover? Get it in writing.
  5. Are packing and blankets included? They're among the extras that push the price up most.

Frequently asked questions

Is a move for under €100 reliable?

For a small furniture delivery or a few items, it can be a real price. The risk appears when that price is advertised for a whole home: there, insurance, staff or materials are almost always missing and get added later.

Is insurance included in cheap moves?

Not always. Several budget companies don't detail the cover in the base price and sell it separately. Ask in writing what insurance the quote includes. In our fixed rate it's included.

Do you do moves in central Madrid?

Yes. We take it into account when organising the move, because the whole Centro district is a special low-emission zone. Many low-cost vans are old and may face restrictions there.

Do you go to Alcobendas, Pozuelo or Getafe?

Yes. Up to 50 km between the two homes is included in the price; from km 50 we charge €1.95 per km.
